Our laboratory provides access to several high p,T specialized techniques.
It is equipped with two fume-hoods, bench top extraction systems, and safety equipment as required for training HQP in high-pressure and high-temperature (high-p,T) fundamental and applied research work. In addition to a high-p,T UV-visible flow cell for spectroscopic studies under hydrothermal conditions, the lab has two systems for synthesis of nanomaterials and aerogels using supercritical carbon dioxide, a tubular oven for post-synthesis heat treatments under different atmospheres, two Gamry Reference 600 potentiostats with access to a full set of electrochemical characterization methods including electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Students in our group have also access to other characterization techniques such as: Raman spectroscopy, FTIR, ICP-OES, AAS, HPLC, BET, NMR, XRD, etc.
